‘Slow doesn’t just happen anymore. You have to make the effort’, says Honeybloom. ‘I truly believe that slowing down your life is a radical choice’
We live in a time of steadily rising unemployment, and,
consequently, much emphasis is being placed on stimulating job creation. To this
end, the federal government has already spent a lot of economic
stimulus money on a variety of infrastructure projects. An obvious
question to ask is whether any of these projects have directly
benefited the unemployed, beyond creating a few temporary jobs. It is
a no-brainer that the jobs to create first are the ones in industries
with the highest growth potential, where job creation can quickly
become self-sustaining. As a matter of public policy, it would make
perfect sense to provide seed money for what is bound to become a new
high-growth industry segment: serving the needs of the permanently
unemployed.

Chavez encouraged communes to create new systems of distribution and
consumption. He gave the example of the Socialist Arepa shop in
Caracas that sells the popular Venezuelan food at about half of the
normal price, and makes the arepas from corn meal that was precooked
in socialist centres, and purchased at a non-profit price.
The great thing about Corporate America is that competition is always fierce for the national title of greediest.

Attacking Cancer Cells with Hydrogel Nanoparticles
Researchers at Georgia Tech are using hydrogel nanoparticles to kill cancer.
Other scientists believe that even moderate levels of exercise are
responsible for slowing down the aging process and even reversing it.
Many studies have shown that engaging in regular physical activity
helps to prevent the onset of chronic disease and can help to lower
cholesterol and reduce blood pressure. By slowing down the aging
process, other diseases like cancer, stroke, and diabetes can also be
prevented.
Eating a balanced diet and preparing your food in the correct way may be your best defense against developing cancer, according to top cancer
researchers Professor Attilio Giacosa and Professor Jaak Janssens. In two interviews published on the LWWPartnerships website ( www.lwwpartnerships.com) this month, Prof Giacosa explains how a preventative diet boosts the body's natural defenses, while Prof Janssens discusses the latest developments in breast cancer prevention.
